Pottery is unique in its proximity to our daily life.  This proximity is the foundation of my work. Through making, I have become aware of our natural tendency to closely inspect objects we handle with our hands.  I reward that tendency with areas of surprise. Hand drawn geometric patterns and organic shapes wrap the vessel with line and color, often leading to a decorated foot or underside of a lid. I get great motivation from exploring the elements of drawing on the surface of a form. Combining these drawn lines with fluid glaze creates a tension I love, and reflects my own passion for nature and the environment.  I want my pots to function well for their intended purpose.  They are designed to stand up to the rigors of daily use so they can bring joy for years to come.

I use porcelain clay and colorful glazes to create my ceramics.

Dinnerware, large serving bowls, condiment sets, and other unique forms are one of a kind-each made on the wheel and then decorated by me. Designed for utility, these handmade pots are great for daily use (think favorite coffee mug). And they make special gifts, especially for a wedding or housewarming party.
